Print Giveaway!

*UPDATE* I will definitely be giving away the extra Naturalist/Rollergirl/Libra prints I showed below! I'm blown away by the response so far, you guys are the besttt!(and if any of you are concerned about being in another country, if you win I will happily ship a print internationally)

Hi everyone!
In honor of the new year and in thanks to all you lovely people who follow my work and inspire me, I'm doing a print giveaway on my blog and twitter. Ends on Sunday the 30th!
It's simple-- comment on this post for a chance to win (you could tell me what I should draw this year, or not), and/or retweet my twitter announcement. My twitter name is kalidraws. If you do both the blog and twitter, you have double the chances of winning!
I'll be giving away these 4 glossy prints (2 for the blog, 2 for twitter):

BUT if I get a lot of responses, i'll give away even more, like these guys:

Sound good?? You have through Sunday to comment/tweet, and then I will randomly pick the winners and post their names on my blog next week so they can email me. PRINTS AWAY!!!

Oh man, I love that one from your Picture Book Report! Consider this my comment (I will also RT) and this year you should keep up what you're doing because each post is just great!

Jackalope said...

You should draw more illustrations for literature! Those were so beautiful. Or draw whatever you want! :)

Boum said...

I'm a great fan! Such an opportunity to have a print from own shouldn't be missed :)

Terrence said...

Fantastic selection. Not to hurt my chances but if I don't win I think I'm going to have to drop some money on a couple of those.

FuriousSterling said...

I don't have any suggestions for what you should draw this year, because I always look forward to seeing your stuff. So, just keep up the good work!

Anonymous said...

Maybe you could try some new styles? Sort of try something new - it might help put a new perspective on your normal stuff?

ZackRock said...

What to draw this year? Jeez, no idea. A dragon eating a Winnebago? A panda trying to get decent reception on his iPhone? Hang-gliding sea otters? You're talented enough to make any of these crappy concepts work.

KelseyRar said...

Exciting! I love your work! I found you through picture book report, so it's especially awesome to see the Sabriel prints up there!

Tony Bosma said...

I am Sam's cousin. You love Sam. Since I kind of look like Sam with more hair and no glasses, am much less artistically inclined, and probably not as funny... that means you sort of love me too. Atleast a little. Therefore, I am the obvious choice. Please give me something to hang to next to the thing same gave me. You can both live forever on my office wall, as you do in real life.

Nicole N said...

Waah, I would love prints for my new apartment, the Sabriel one is my favorite ;3; <3

Frank Wheeler said...

Kali, great work. Really enjoyed your blog and checked out your site(bookmarked it too). Love your style but appreciate your range too. I'm an longtime AD/CD who has started to illustrate a couple of years ago. Josh Cochran was my inspiration to get going. I would love to hear how you got started. Will be following you on twitter now. Shalom!

So glad I came across your work on Picture Book Report. You're one of my new favorite illustrators for sure.

Here's to winning! Cheers!

I can't really suggest anything for you to do this coming year because I enjoy just about anything you do. XD Though I do love watercolor work. *_*

Unknown said...

Sweet! I've been following your work since you posted on the Picture Book Report.

As for what you should draw... I'd love to see something spacey (like retro sci fi ala' Buck Rogers) or maybe some steam punk. Your style is great!

Unknown said...

Just found your blog and your work. Beautiful style and flawless execution. Love it.

I've looked over your blog and didn't see any dinosaurs (except for that one raptor head). So I request a dinosaur piece this year sometime.

Best of luck and thanks for your inspiring work.

I'd like to see the next Sabriel installment. Scuttlebutt has it its B'more Winter Restaurant Week with special prices at great eateries! Followed by a trip to Jordan Faye Contemporary or perhaps Nudashank it could make a print pickup a 4D, gastronomical and visual experience for all time!

Ooooh, lovely! That one of Sabriel in front of the fire is what drew me to follow your blog in the first place - I love it! I don't really use twitter so I will have to just leave this comment and cross my fingers. : )

Matty Spencer said...

Sweet work, good luck everyone!

Tyler Stott said...

RIGHT ON!!!

You should draw dinosaurs and humans, I'm thinking a "James Gurney" kind of world...

Cassandra Mortmain said...

I would just about DIE to get either of your Sabriel prints (so gorgeous) and for the coming year, I think it might be cool if you did a series on classic horror novels (Dracula, Frankenstein, A Picture of Dorian Gray, etc.), but mostly because I selfishly want some of your beautiful illustrations inspired by Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-- one of my favorite books of all time. I'd also love it if you carried on illustrating the Abhorsen triology. I'm studying to be a librarian, so I've always particularly enjoyed Lirael.

I can't believe I didn't know you had a twitter! Just followed you with mine, MrsFridayNext, to stay appraised of these blogs in the future.

blackrider23 said...

I LOVE the Derby Girl picture!

the taxidermy print makes me DROOL! it's AMAZING!

Unknown said...

Oooh, Gosh- I've always been a bit shy about these things, but I'm gonna jump in on this one, because I look up to you so much as a designer and illustrator!

I love the stuff you do with limited color palettes. So many of those choices are so bold, it takes a very skilled hand to pull them off. I feel like I have learned so much about impact and tonality just through being a fan of yours- your work is so cerebral that way.

I love the illustrations that you do that reference literature, though, so do more of those in the coming year!

Anders Frantsen said...

Lovely work. I sure would love to have a print of it hanging on my wall.
what should you draw?...hhhmmm
1. A cool funk band getting groovy.
2. Your own batman comic, where insted of a man...Batman would be a crimefighting cat.
3. A gigantic cat destroying a city. Godzilla-style!
or something ells...
btw. your twitter page has been retwattered.

AnE.Anne said...

I love that your work encompasses so much of what I love! I can feel like I'm allotted a glance into the past while being thrust into the future! I really appreciate what I would call your "manor house" works, but then I am a BBC/Mystery addicted Anglophile, so there's that. I would like to see more of things along that line, maybe some Sherlock Holmes - Agatha Christie...dark and dreary/cute and quaint. Even something Edward Gorey inspired. It must be great to have so much talent!

Hope your coming year is nothing but ticketyboo!

Bavarian Erin said...

I love your generous spirit! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and I hope you have a fantastic 2011!

As a new fan of your work I would feel that fate was involved if I actually won something here ... but likely I will just be content to follow your progress.

Namaste,

Nekrath said...

You should draw dragons and fantasy creatures. They would look awesome.

By hoping for a print, I am slightly increasing everyone else's chances by 1 since I have never ever won anything in the history of ever.
Well no, that's a lie, one time I played one of those scratchy lottery things and I won just enough to cover the cost of the ticket. I think that was the universe trying to tell me something.
